According to Wikipedia,Eid al-Fitr is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm). The religious Eid is a single day during which Muslims are not permitted to fast. The holiday celebrates the conclusion of the 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.Muslims believe that they are commanded by Allah,as mentioned in the Quran to continue their fast until the last day of Ramadan and pay the Zakat and fitra before offering the Eid prayers. Some native terms for Eid al-Fitr are:
1.) Malay - Hari Raya Aidilfitri ("Day of celebrating Eid al-Fitr"), Hari Raya Puasa ("Day of Celebrating End of Fasting"), Hari Lebaran
2.) Chinese - 开斋节 / Kāi zhāi jié
3.) Indonesian - Hari Raya Idul Fitri or Hari Lebaran
It is very symbolic as it represents victory for Muslims who have successfully undergone a month-long battle of self-restraint and abstinence by fasting.Fasting in the month of Ramadan,an obligatory practice is one of the five pillars of Islam.Muslims celebrate Eid by saying prayers, giving money to the poor, sending Eid greetings and feasting with their families.Eid means "Celebration" and refers to the occasion itself and Mubarak means "blessed", for example: "Eid Mubarak, sister!" In much of South Asia Eid Mubarak wishes are very common and often accompanied by hugging three times after the Salat al Eid.In the Philippines it is recognized as a legal Holiday though the greeting of Eid Mubarak is gaining traction only recently.Muslims in other countries such as Indonesia and Malay language-speaking population (Malaysia, Brunei, & Singapore) use the expression "Selamat Idul Fitri" or "Salam Idul Fitri".This expression is usually accompanied by the popular expression "Minal Aidin wal Faizin",an Arab sentence meaning "May we be sacred one more time and succeeded our fasting".The expression is not recognized by Arabians although its in the Arabic language.Throughout the Muslim world there are numerous other greetings for Eid ul-Adha and Eid ul-Fitr.On this special occasion you may delight your friends and families or anyone you know by sending these beautiful ecards to say Eid Mubarak to them. These special Eid greetings and cards and also message include inspirational and heartwarming wishes for a prosperous celebration of this divine occasion.Spread the true essence and spirit of this celebration among your loved ones and wish them the blessings of Allah.Wish them peace and happiness and the blessings of Allah not only in this Eid al-Fitr but always with these warm Eid Greetings.Wish them happiness, peace and prosperity in this Eid al-Fitr with these heartfelt Eid greetings.Convey your divine Eid Greetings and sincere wishes on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.Wish that Allahs guidance and blessings be there all through.Pray for their happiness and make Eid al-Fitr sweeter with this warm wish.Pray that Allahs blessings keep showering upon and bless you and your family with abundant happiness and inner peace.May this Eid al-Fitr bring you the utmost peace and prosperity.
